Chapter Fifteen

Chapter Fifteen
Child of the Gods

Rashid had come prepared for he had brought with him a small entourage of Maganacs with him. He seemed calm despite the fact that his own master threatened his life if he didn’t start talking. In fact, the glares he received by the rest of family should have shaken him somewhat, still Rashid was calm, never moving.

“Quatre says you know something…” The self-proclaimed leader of the group, Jessica was one warrior Rashid wouldn’t dare cross. Her unspoken question hung in the air silently. Rashid looked around the group, noticing his master was present but his mistress was not.

“You aren’t going near them until you start talking.” Heero took a surprising stance beside Jessica. Now two of the most deadly people in the world were staring at Rashid with murder in their eyes.

Rashid began with a tale of two sun gods, Amun-Ra and Ameterasu, and how they fell in love. The tale spoke of how the two decided to live among the mortals for it was the only way they could be together. Reincarnation after reincarnation they would live out searching for one another and after death they would be denied rest because neither of the two could relinquish the love they shared.

Jennifer gasped as the tale was done, a tear falling from her eyes. To be forbidden to see your love? That was incomprehensible to her.

“Lord Susanno created the Order in fear of what his sister and Amun Ra decreed they would do. He feared this child that would inherit the powers of both his parents, the Southern Sun and the Eastern Sun.” Rashid explained. “But after watching his sister die countless times and coming back to Earth over and over again, Lord Susanno started to rethink his reasonings. He tried to destroy the Order but sadly they had been going on for far too long. Hence, the god of lightening created another group to protect his sister and her lover from the Order.”  He gestured to the men behind him. “We of the Maganacs are the descendants of the original warriors chosen by Lord Susanno to protect the two suns.”

Quatre’s mind started to turn again.

“You knew…You knew who I was when we first met.”

Rashid’s head slowly nodded.

“But…how…?”

“Lord and Lady Sun needed a way to know one another through their reincarnations. There is a specific birth mark on the shoulder blades that depicts who you originally are. It is small, but there all the same. An eye of Ra for Amun-Ra, the Japanese symbol of heaven for Ameterasu. The Order knows of these marks as well. That is how they were able to know your true identities.”

Quatre grew cold. He knew those specific marks indefinitely. Unconsciously, he touched the shoulder that held the mark Rashid stated. It was a birthmark, or so he was told.

“We did not know Lady Crystilline was Ameterasu until you began to fall in love with her, Master Quatre.” Rashid chuckled. “The only woman Lord Sun had ever fallen for was Lady Sun.”

At this the Winner blushed crimson colors.

“Alright…we get it so what about little Hercules?” Duo asked, giving him a slap in the head in return by his own wife.

“What do you mean?” Rashid asked.

“My wife is pregnant, Rashid.” Quatre looked at the old man. “With the child of Amun and Ameterasu.”

Behind Rashid, the Maganacs gasped. Rashid shook his head. “Even we Maganacs are unsure of what will happen when he arrives into this world.” He gave a smile. “But we know one thing at least. A child born into a family of light will learn to control his powers. I see no reason to fear him.”

“We don’t know what to expect from this child, Rashid…” Quatre sighed. “I’m…quite worried about this.”

Rashid nodded to his master.

“As you should, because now that the child has been conceived…There is no doubt in my mind Mistress Crystilline’s life will still be at risk…The Order is not the only organization that knows about the past, Master Quatre…”

Quatre frowned. “What do you mean?”

“Evil forces will come for the child, Master Quatre…Whether it is born…or still growing. And there is one other thing that must be recognized…” Rashid stared hard at the group before him.

“It is very possible the child knows just exactly how much power he contains.”
